Office consolidation – RAI consolidated 3 area offices into a new 54,000 square foot facility in Franklin, TN where I designed and managed the infrastructure construction of both telecom and network systems. Office moves of 200 staff members. Responsible for user equipment logistics including computers, phones, scanners, fax, and copiers. Reported as a member of the Office Move Team where I helped lead the team in moving logistics, planning, scope, and tracking. For the three weeks prior to the move I worked on site with construction team to ensure site was prepared and deadlines were met. This often involved intervening in contractor disputes and timing issues. Project tracked in MS Excel and technical details in MS Excel, MS Visio, and MS Word. Data center build – This involved building two data centers. The first was a temporary location until a new larger facility was secured. I directly designed and installed all systems and built out 35 servers with systems to ensure remote access to all platforms. The second facility was a permanent facility that contained space for 30 racks. I designed all power distribution and infrastructure to ensure complete remote access to all platforms including off net remote console access to network infrastructure. Power system on critical systems was redundant UPS power including dual power circuits. Build out allowed growth of 100+ servers and consolidation of other equipment from business acquisitions. Build out of twenty five centers – Twelve month program to grow into four new markets. Each market had multiple location opening to ensure a marketing footprint was developed. Responsible for support team to plan, purchase configure new equipment and install. Critical planning with in house staff, preparation on installation and tight monitoring ensured all systems were up and running and ahead of schedule prior to opening. Coordinated on site staff to ease center clinicians into technology. Project tracked in MS Project and technical details in MS Excel. All project work done in MS SharePoint Wiki for accessibility. Due to the amount of open projects MS Project Roll Up feature was utilized to track in one location all resource timings to prevent time overlap. This was then rolled up in the IT department resources to ensure matrixed teams were not overlapped with tasks. This project was built on dates often changing and last minute reschedules inherent in construction projects. Therefore risk mitigation was done with consolidated shipping vendors to ensure tight control of delivery. Project reporting to CIO and Business Development Team where I sat as IT liaison.
